Pond Discoveries

 We explored the pond this week, and discovered how to skip stones, make splashes, and balance on rocks. We are fortunate to have such an engaging space on our school property!

Muddy Boots Club!

That's an enthusiastic title for an afternoon that we're enthusiastic about. Muddy Boots Club is embraced by the children-they ask "is it Muddy Boots Club today?" often, and we are excited when it IS Friday and we can say "Yes!" We bundle up and head out into the woods and everyone is immediately engaged and playing. We (teachers) are there for support and safety, but mostly we watch and revel in the independence and strength of these children.

Out and About

The woods were a little cooler but just as inviting today as we headed out through some mud to play. The children remembered digging underneath logs last week and worked hard by themselves to look!

this was called "king of the kong" by one of the children-we were there (very close!) while the children took a turn climbing up and then choosing the next climber. 

Another Beautiful Day!

Today was a day for checking under logs, climbing logs, hitting logs with sticks, and looking for early signs of spring. We found a new sort of spot over some bridges and stayed out for a long while.
