Spring has Sprung

Sometimes the muddy boots club wants to throw stuff in the woods-and we had a chance to throw pinecones and sticks and other stuff off of the tree house- we tidied it up and had the satisfaction of throwing stuff-safely!

But there is always something to look at, pick up, move, push, explore, climb, jump down from, or talk about in the woods! We find that no matter how active the children have been inside the classroom, when we get outside, in moments, there is a business, focus, and purpose to each child's actions.

This particular tree is not easy to climb, but it's a challenge that the children line up for. The two children pictured (above) became experts quickly, and offered hints and support to the less experienced climbers.

This child is part of a game, played with three other children. We didn't ask, but it seemed fairy tale like.

Earlier in the week, we had coats on! We took a long walk, which ended with some mud exploration in a vernal pool.

These children were proud of their catch! (mud)
Until Next Time,
Michele
