Frozen In

We were frozen in today, it's just too cold to be outside with little ones! We had fun playing in the classrooms, running in the gym, and sharing a yummy snack of popcorn and hot chocolate!

 

We hope to get out again soon!

A Slightly Snowy Afternoon

 We didn't waste any time getting out today to enjoy the snow that was left in the shadows...

We are impressed at the ease and comfort that the children have in the woods now. We have a favorite spot with many child-sized spaces and large clearings and a stream running through it. As soon as we arrive, the children start running, climbing, looking, and playing. We stay near,  keeping everyone in sight, but it is a time for free, unstructured play outdoors. When we start to hear "when are we going back?" and "when is snack?" we know it's time to walk back to school.

A Great Snowy Day!

We got outside today to play in the snow. We found the tracks of many animals (lots of squirrels), threw snowballs at the trees and the stream, and just experienced the mild weather and wonderful snow. Somehow, there was a lot of solitary snow sitting. Enjoy!

Rained Out of the Snow!

We stayed in today and played games and read stories. A favorite was "Going on a Bear Hunt!" which let us expend a lot of excited energy making noise and "running" from the bear!
We were so busy we didn't take any pictures! But we hope you have a nice break, and get outdoors :o) as often as you can!

It's Muddy Boots Again!

We headed out into the December woods to explore and play. The temperature and the mood was just right for a wonderful time!
