Beautiful Weather!

We were outside in some very nice weather this week. The creek on our property has a bit of water and we tried being truly muddy boots and it was fun! We talked about not splashing others and keeping our boot tops out of the water in case we didn't want wet socks, and luckily the children that got a little extra wet had clothes to change into.

I recently read an article about outside play, and the determination that children would benefit from  3 hours of play outside a day!( kids-should-play-outside-3-hours-every-day)  Rest assured, at school we are taking care of at least an hour outside  for muddy boots club !

Spring is in the Air?!

 These pictures depict just a few days difference in weather during the week. We hope for sunshine and spring to come for sure!

Slugs!

The day was a sluggish day- as in the children found all sorts of slugs and set them up with habitats.  They transported their slugs on leaf platforms, and created bridges from stump to stump so that the slugs would not be trapped. I wonder if the slugs will be in residence when we return next week?
