We moved along quickly on our walk through the woods. It was cold!  The children found ways to be active every time we stopped along the trail. With our "stick" rule, the children measure sticks against their arm, and if it's too long they are quick to look for another stick, or ask us to make it smaller. Math and measuring in the forest!
