We had a time outdoors with bug nets. The children chased and caught all sorts of bugs and looked closely at them and returned them to nature when we were done. When we came in we made a "bug explosion" of 30 bugs to celebrate our 30 days/30 minutes outdoors.
We headed out to the treehouse and explored what happened when we pounded leaves-a lot of green! The trails were blooming and we tried honeysuckle-does it taste like honey?- as well as looked at oak tree flowers. A moment of dry in a day of rain, and we took advantage of it!
Muddy Boots Club headed out for a very windy walk with rainbow streamers to test the wind. The children enjoyed the "dance" of the streamers and the windy weather. We discovered that trees that the wind didn't always blow hard, particularly when there were trees nearby.
We had fun walking to the stream and throwing "chestnuts" in the water! After a long walk, we found the "end of the stream" and it was a farm with little piggies who ran to see us. What fun!
We are participating in the 30X30 challenge at Parker School in a big way! yay us!
