It's a Little Colder!

We bundled up and headed out to a favorite spot this week.  We treasure our time outside!
bundle up!

the leaves are mostly down!

this was a hot chocolate booth

a cold and grey sort of day on Friday

it was a bit warmer on Tuesday!

we tried the tire feature of the low ropes course

this snake stayed around a bit for us to watch it

we watched the snake until it slithered into the leaves. We wondered how long it was? How did it move? Where did it live?

An Inside and Outside Sort of Week!

We experienced one of the most beautiful fall days on Tuesday, with leaves and pine needles blowing down in a gentle wind while we ran and climbed. The children tried to catch leaves, collected their favorites, and explored their favorite spots. Then,  Friday the inclement weather kept us inside the gym, where we ran and played with hula hoops and bouncy balls.

Autumn Experiences

Being outside as we are for an extended period of time, we are able to feel fall through all of our senses-we see the colors changing and the leaves falling, the dead plants leaving their seeds behind-we hear geese honking and the crunch of the leaves under our feet and the sound of sticks banging on the trees-we gather leaves that strike our fancy and try to catch them as they fall-we smell the mustiness of the forest and the brisk wind. So many experiences to gather for our memories of fall!

Beautiful Weather

We have been given beautiful weather for our afternoons and we are thankful for these stretches of time outside! The children are so familiar with our routine as we have a snack, put on our boots, and head outside after going through our "checklist"-I call out each item that is needed and the children say "check"-
boots-check
smiling faces-check
camera-check

In the winter the list will become more complicated so it's good to practice now!

Until Next Time,
Michele

sometimes we set up a fort (casa!) outside with sheets and line-the children are in charge of the pegging!

there was a lot of "conferencing" this particular day

Sometimes I take pictures because I'm intrigued by the actions and body language of the children-and try to guess the scenario that they have imagined-is it a fishing trip? superhero conference? home?
